First Day of a New School Year

We played a version of Pictionary to warm up our sketching skills. All students are required to purchase a sketchbook. Each page of the sketchbook should have at least 80 sq. inches. We determined that the width times the height will give us the square inches. So, if your sketchbook is 8x10" it would have 80 sq. inches per page. One that is 9x11" would have 99 sq. inches per page. Please purchase sketchbooks by Monday, Aug. 31st. If you prefer I purchase the skechbook for you, bring $3.50 to school as soon as possible - no later than Thursday of this week. If you prefer to save money, you can make a sketchbook from paper in the art room. Come see me by Wednesday if you want to make your own. Every day I will include our "Word of the Day" in this blog. Make up work includes two 30 second sketches of ANYTHING! We used a fine line black permanent marker on 8 1/2 x 11" paper.

Sketch - a rough or unfinished drawing or painting, often made to assist in making a more finished picture
