Simple but important crutch

Today was activity day and a lot was going on. This is always nice for those who don't have anywhere to go because they get extra time to work on their projects. Excellent progress is being made on the scratchboard drawings. Some of you are using a grid to draw your original shape of the animal. This seems like a simple crutch to some but for others, even this can be a difficult task to learn. The main thing we need to do when we are learning to draw is to train our eyes to actually ssee what we are looking at. For those who are terrified of this medium or are slowly plodding along, hang in there. We are experimenting in art!

grid - a pattern of regularly spaced horizontal and vertical lines.
